The skin is the most outer surface of the body and interacts with various unfamiliar products or materials on a daily basis, such as cosmetics, objects and the environment. Currently, a lot of cosmetic research focuses on creating new products to overcome the problem of dry skin while addressing the problems of premature aging of the skin. One of the most important compounds of Centella asiatica is asiaticoside, which have pharmacological activity as an antioxidant and can hydrate the skin. This study aims to formulate nanophytosomes of gotu kola extract and soy lecithin as a natural antioxidant to determine the moisturizing effect of Centella asiatica extract. Preparation of nanophytosomes using thin layer hydration method. This study is an experimental study for the formulation of Centella asiatica extract nanophytosome preparations. Physical characteristics and stability test parameters on nanophytosome preparations include organoleptic test, pH test, particle size test, polydispersity index and zeta potential, stability test, encapsulation efficiency test, scanning electron microscopy (SEM) test, antioxidant activity test, and transepidermal water loss (TEWL) test. Significant differences between group means were analyzed using the independent t test, where if the test results showed a p value <0.05, it showed significant results.
