Abstract

Ischaemic stroke is becoming an increasingly alarming global health problem. The increase in ischaemic stroke cases has placed a significant burden on the healthcare system, economy and quality of life. Both from the perspective of individual payers and the cost of treating stroke has become an increasingly heavy burden. Several factors such as class of care, and length of stay (LOS) contribute to this variation but LOS is a factors driving up the cost of treat.

This is a pharmacoeconomic study using a retrospective cohort design that aims to evaluate the effect of clinical pathway (CP) implementation on treatment costs, and outcomes clinic in ischaemic stroke in BPJS Kesehatan at RSUD Ajibarang in 2024. The implementation of CP influenced hospital admission and discharge, duration of hospitalisation, total cost of care, and clinical outcome improvement scores measured by NIHSS.The results of statistical analysis using the chi-square test confirmed a significant difference between the group of patients who according treatment with CP compared to those who did not. This study indicates that CP implementation has the potential to be an effective intervention in optimising improving clinical outcomes but improving treatment costs in ischaemic stroke in the BPJS Health care at RSUD Ajibarang. Keywords: ischaemic stroke, INA-CBGs cost, clinical pathway, NIHSS clinical outcomes
