Abstract
Hypertension is one of the non communicable diseases whose prevalence continues to increase and is a major risk factor for various cardiovascular complications. Hypertension therapy requires comprehensive management where alternative therapies based on herbal plants are becoming increasingly attractive options, one of which is celery leaves (Apium graveolens) which has diuretic and antihypertensive effects. The approach used is Interprofessional Education (IPE) and Interprofessional Collaboration (IPC) with the aim of developing celery leaf infusa preparation as an alternative therapy for hypertensive patients. This collaboration was carried out by interprofessionals through counselling activities using power points, leaflets, and infusa making videos, as well as evaluating participants' knowledge with questions and answers. The evaluation results showed that participants understood the benefits of celery leaves as an alternative therapy for hypertension. The application of IPE and IPC can encourage interprofessional understanding, community skills in managing hypertension, and the ability to work in teams to provide holistic health services. The conclusion of this activity is that celery leaf infusion has the potential to be a safe and accessible alternative therapy for hypertensive patients, and the IPE and IPC approaches have proven effective in increasing interprofessional synergy in health services.
