Abstract

The purpose of this study is to describe the mathematical literacy of college students. The subjects of the study were 30 college students in the 4th semester Mathematics Education Study Program in Karawang. The research method used is qualitative description. Data in this study was obtained from observations, tests, and interviews. The test used is a mathematical literacy test with 3 questions which refers to mathematical literacy indicators. The test results showed that college students in the low mathematical literacy group (S1) were at level 2 of mathematical literacy ability. Furthermore, college students in the mathematical literacy group are medium (S2) at level 3 mathematical literacy ability. While college students in the high mathematical literacy group (S3) are at level 4 mathematical literacy ability, they are still at the intermediate level. Based on the mathematical literacy tests that have been conducted, it can be seen that the higher the category of college student groups, the higher the tendency to answer questions correctly. Instead of the lower the category of student groups, the lower the tendency to answer the correct question.
