Abstract
Project-based learning is a learning approach in which students learn through hands-on experience in completing real projects or simulating real-world situations. Project-based learning is considered important for the development of students' character because it provides opportunities for students to learn through experience. Project-based learning in high school is very useful in learning, especially mathematics learning because through this learning it is able to integrate theoretical knowledge with practical applications in real-world situations of students. However, the success of the implementation of the project-based learning model is greatly influenced by the role of teachers. The purpose of this study is to find out how teachers perceive the implementation of project-based learning. The design of this research is qualitative descriptive by involving three mathematics teachers in high schools in the city of Bandung as respondents. The data collection instrument uses semi-structured interviews. The results of the data analysis show that there is a positive response to project-based learning in secondary schools, so it is recommended in mathematics learning in secondary schools to use project-based learning as one of the learning approaches because it can help improve students' understanding, skills, and motivation in learning mathematics.
