Abstract

One of the processes conducted by the teachers to achieve competences are through Teacher-Professional Education (PPG) Program. However, in the effort of achieving their competences, teachers still find many problems in the teaching and learning process. This project applied qualitative research which employed documentation analysis. The instruments used are the documents of problem identification of PPG English teachers in Indonesia. The results of the study showed that there were three categories of problems faced by PPG English teachers in the classroom learning process, namely the Literacy Skill, the Numeracy Skill, and the Pedagogic Skill. The first category was Literacy Skill where the English teachers have difficulties to guide the students who have low comprehension in reading. The second category was Numeracy Skill where the English teachers have difficulties to guide the students who have low reasoning in understanding English materials. The third category was Pedagogic Skill where the English teachers find difficulties in applying the innovative teaching in the classroom.
