Abstract
Interactions are understood as a process of meaning construction and knowledge formation through language. Therefore, allowing learners to engage in a collaborative writing task could provide them with an opportunity to strengthen their interactive and collaborative writing skills. A collaborative process like this could improve their writing by allowing learners to share and revise their ideas. The purpose of this study is to explore the importance of patterns of interaction in online collaborative writing. I narrated three important aspects: (1) tools interactivity and student satisfaction in online courses; (2) patterns of interaction; and (3) peer review in online collaborative writing. Those aspects are essential for creating effective online writing course delivery without jeopardizing quality or core academic objectives.
