Comic books can be an effective tool for teaching language and culture. Il presents an authentic situation of communication and helps learners to build their learning path in a foreign language and also to expand their language and cultural practices. In order to teach language and culture several textbooks and documents such as literary texts, articles taken from magazines, films etc. are generally used in French language classes. However, the comic books remain almost untouched in the French language classroom at the intermediate level. Therefore, the present paper aims to analyze two French textbooks prescribed by Jawaharlal Nehru University and Amity University, India and it will analyze how these textbooks teach culture in French language classes and what place has been given to comics in these textbooks?
