Language has a significant role for individuals to exchange ideas in social practices. There are many factors that influence language use, one of them is gender. Gender means the characteristics of someone that are formed socially. The study addressed two research questions; (1) What are the most commonly used women’s language features used by the main character Vivian in the Moxie movie? And (2) Why does the main character Vivian use the language features frequently in the Moxie movie? The researcher implemented Lakoff (1973) which proposes ten features of women’s language to answer the first research question. The researcher employed content analysis since the data is Vivian’s utterances. The researcher found that 191 Vivian’s utterances contained women’s language features. This study showed there were nine features of out ten features of women’s language used by Vivian in the Moxie movie.  The most frequent feature used by Vivian in the Moxie movie was lexical hedges. Furthermore, the reasons of lexical hedges used frequently by Vivian were to express her uncertainty, soften her utterances, get someone’s attention, and start a discussion. The researcher explained the reasons of the feature frequently used by Vivian using Lakoff’s and Jakobson’s theory.
