Abstract

Over the last decade, there has been great research interest in the use of Vygotskian sociocultural conceptual framework on language development process. Recently, there has been a research focus on the implementation of sociocultural discourse analysis by a series of educational-context-based research in UK and Iran to measure the classroom dialogue for demonstrating its efficacy of communicating and representing aspects of reflection and learning and teaching process. Four main aspects in sociocultural discourse analysis are the lexical content and the cohesive structures of classroom dialogue, the joint intellectual action between participants in classroom, the shared understanding developed in the classroom dialogue, and the participants’ cognition and behaviour. Drawing upon the earlier literature, this paper offers an innovative way and Talkwall technology to support sociocultural discourse and its impact on wellbeing in a classroom dialogue. A theoretical review about the keys of communication between teachers and students in a classroom dialogue, the conceptual of sociocultural discourse analysis associated with wellbeing in tertiary context and the ways to develop sociocultural discourse and wellbeing as an innovative teaching methodology to the participants’ learning outcomes, and the features of Talkwall technology to support classroom dialogue will be discussed in this paper.
