Abstract


Feedback is one of the key elements of language teaching for the improvement of learners’ spoken and written production therefore providing feedback is an essential part in any formal language learning context. A number of studies suggested the used of different types of feedback to increase students’ writing achievement. This study was aimed to investigate how feedback was implemented in the process of teaching paragraph writing and how the students’ response to it. This research employed a qualitative approach with case study design. There were 40 participants from the second semester students of English department in one of State University in Serang Banten involved in this research. The data were collected through observations, written texts, questionnaire and interview. The result showed that the provision of feedback which were given in the process of writing was potential to be applied in teaching writing. Most of the students considered the application of process approach and the provision of feedback in writing is very important since it can facilitate their learning difficulties and beneficial in organising their ideas and focusing their paragraph writing better.
