Abstract
One of the aspects in achieving English acquisition lies on the appropriate learning strategy which is suitable to the learners’ characteristics and environment. In Indonesia, many students are failed in recognizing their characters as they are not accustomed to doing self-reflection. Besides, teachers often do not understand their learners’ behaviors in learning English. As a result, teachers set unsuitable learning activities for the students. This SILL survey aims at mapping students English learning strategies. This survey consists of 6 parts and 50 statements of both direct and indirect language learning strategies with Likert scale of 1-5 frequency. The survey shows that Part B Using All Your Mental Process which belongs to the Cognitive strategy is the strategy mostly used by the respondents. The findings of this research will be used as one of basic recommendations in designing English learning strategies in the next research.
