TEACHERS’ SELF-DEVELOPMENT IN RUNNING ONLINE CLASS BY APPLYING TPACK

Abstract


Teaching online during covid-19 pandemic is something that many teachers have to do, whether they are ready or not. This emergency situation required the teachers to develop their ability to use digital tools in their teaching. Moreover, they should implement the Technological Pedagogical Content Knowledge (TPACK) in their lesson plan. Thus, this study was conducted to explore how English teachers developed themselves to be able to run their class online by applying TPACK element. Qualitative and quantitative approach were applied and netnography method was chosen in conducting the study. Qualitative data were taken from documentation and interview, while quantitative data were taken from questionnaire, which all were completed online. The participants of this study were six High School teachers who had taken the Teachers Professional Development program (PPG). The finding shows that the teachers do self-taught strategy that made them able to run online class meaningfully.
