Abstract

This research aims to investigate pre-service EFL teacher’s belief on conducting teaching practices during covid-19 outbreaks. This study was narrated qualitatively through stories. This narrative study involved one Pre-service EFL teacher as the research participant. She was chosen as participant since she conducted her teaching practice in fully online mode, thus she experienced several unexpected stories that changes her belief toward teaching. The stories were collected by using interview as the primary resources of this research. After conducting the interview, the stories were retold by using narrative analysis to connect past, present and future events to reveal the shifting of participants’ belief toward teaching practice. The results show that the biggest changes on participants’ life during teaching in pandemic covid-19 is her personality. She experienced anxious, nervous, and confused when she started her teaching practice. After consulting and discussing teaching plan with her colleague, she finally realized that support system was an important aspect to keep her positive personality during teaching. It implies that teachers’ collaboration is essential aspects to survive in remote teaching environment.
