Abstract
This study aims to describe: (1) a comparison of the plots in the novel and film Romeo and Juliet, (2) the changes that occur in the Ecranization process from the novel to the film Romeo and Juliet. This research is a qualitative descriptive research. The object of this research are the novel Romeo and Juliet written by William Shakespeare and the film Romeo and Juliet 2013 directed by. The focus of this research is the changes that occur in the process of Ecranization from novels to films by making comparisons between novels and films. Data were obtained from novels using reading, listening, and note-taking techniques and data from films by watching, observing, and capturing techniques. The data were analyzed using qualitative descriptive analysis techniques.
