Women’s Resistance Against Men’s Domination In  A Doll’s House and Bekisar Merah :  A Comparative Analysis

Patriarchy is a social system that places men as the main power holders and dominates in various roles over women. This system makes men have special rights over women in the ways of politic leadership, education, family inheritance and social rights. This is structured for men’s benefits yet become women’s disadvantages. Nora, the protagonist character in A Doll’s house and Lasiyah, the protagonist character in Bekisar Merah undergone the patriarchy values that were oppressive, from their patriarchal societies. By using the theory of feminism and comparative literature, this study has given an account of revealing the two protagonists resistance against patriarchal values which brought them to metamorphose themselves into newly born person with new personality and identity.  They were comparably reborn. They had comparable factors driving them to conduct resistance: Love and Dignity.   In General, women are considered weak and powerless; Yet, in fact, they are tough and powerful.
