A SYSTEMATIC REVIEW OF ENGLISH TEACHERS’ PERSONAL EPISTEMOLOGY

Abstract
Personal epistemology has been a hot issue in the last few decades. Many studies have been done with different foci. In relation to English teachers, this topic is concerned with the call for embracing a social constructivist view of learning and knowing about language teaching. This can be a challenging issue for English teachers. This paper tries to explore some issues related to English teachers’ personal epistemology based on the topics and findings of studies as published in journal articles. This paper will focus on the philosophy of personal epistemology, the dimensions, the transformation, and the implications to teaching and learning.
