Abstract


Teaching identity has many interesting ways to be investigated. This research focused on ELT identity perspectives towards teaching practice. The participants in this study are novice and experience teachers working in formal education in secondary/senior high school in Indonesia. This research investigated the kind of identity perspectives reflecting on teachers’ belief and to what extent their belief impact on their professional teacher identity construction. The method used in this research is qualitative method using semi-structured interview in order to gain teachers’ reflection on their teaching perspective. The results of this study are the participants experience instructional, global, and local perspective of teacher identity. Related to their professional identity construction, the participants face emotional and experience facet of ELT professional identity.
