Symbolic meanings are used to represent something else and it can be objects or even words. It can be concrete or abstract, their meaning can vary depending on the context. However, using symbolic meanings where the meaning is not the actual meaning, this is still an interesting thing to research. This research uses qualitative methods and document analysis because this research uses the book of Proverbs which is already existing data. This research aims to find out the frequency of use of the word "water" and “path” in the book of Proverbs and the meaning of the word "water" and “path” in the book of Proverbs. There are 14 times the word "water" and 13 times the word “path” appears in the book of Proverbs. The book of Proverbs, in short, is a collection of proverbs, namely short poems or sayings in the form of advice to educate humans.
