Abstract

The learning paradigm has shifted from teacher-centered into student-centered education. Some gain benefits of student or Learner Centered Education (LCE) since it is considered to be a good way to activate students’ involvement or students’ engagement and to accommodate students’ needs. Having Bremner’s (2021) six aspect of LCE framework, it was found that Play Performance course adapted students’ needs, allowed power sharing and active participation, accommodated relevant skills and autonomy including formative assessment. In this play performance course, the implementation of LCE enables both lecturer’s and learners’ roles to achieve the goals together.  Besides practicing students’ soft skill, LCE provides more opportunity to be more creative. On the contrary, LCE may not work well in some other courses or areas. Further investigation or research needs to be conducted to gain other perspective of LCE implementation in the future.
