Abstract
Indonesia’s Ministry of Education mandates that teachers acquire professional qualifications through the Teacher Professional Education Program (PPG) to foster leadership development. This study examined the Leadership Project, a compulsory subject of the PPG program, to assess its impact on students' perception of its application in their collaborative experiential projects. Two main research questions were addressed: 1) To what extent did PPG students perceive the leadership project's frameworks? 2) What challenges did PPG students face during the Leadership project? Employing an explanatory mixed-method approach, the researchers collected the data using close-ended and open-ended questionnaires and interviews with 31 PPG students at Sanata Dharma University. Survey results revealed four main themes: conceptual framework, practical framework, project engagement, and future career prospects. Participants highlighted challenges related to conceptual and practical aspects, and they provided suggestions for program improvement, including policy enhancements, more consultation, and individual reflection follow-ups.
