Abstract

This study is a response to the call that more research is needed to investigate the local contexts of language assessment literacy (LAL) of Indonesian EFL teachers. Moreover, none of the studies investigating these teachers’ LAL used Kremmel and Harding’s (2020) survey. This study is therefore aimed at addressing these questions: 1) What are the Indonesian EFL teachers’ LAL dimensions? 2) To what extent does the factor structure in this study align with those found in Kremmel & Harding (2020)? 3) What assessment training do these teachers need? Using Convergent design, the quantitative data collection was conducted by distributing an Indonesian version of Kremmel and Harding’s survey. In total, 324 responses were analyzed using EFA. The qualitative data collection and analysis was conducted by analyzing interview transcripts of eight teachers using thematic analysis. The merged results show that five components of LAL were supported by the qualitative data analysis results.
