This qualitative study aims to explore the transformative learning experiences of Indonesian teachers who teach English in Thailand. Using a phenomenological approach, unstructured interviews were conducted with six Indonesian teachers who have been teaching in Thailand for at least two semesters. The study found that the experience of teaching English in Thailand has been transformative for the participants in terms of their personal and professional growth. The participants experienced a period of adjustment and adaptation to the cultural differences and expectations of their host country, which led to changes in their perceptions, attitudes, and teaching practices. The study contributes to the literature on transformative learning by providing insights into the experiences of Indonesian teachers who teach English in Thailand and highlights the importance of intercultural competence in the field of language teaching.
