INDONESIAN AND PHILIPPINE STUDENTS’ PERCEPTION OF THE USE OF ICT IN EFL CLASSROOM

Abstract


The purpose of this study was to describe how students at Universitas Muria Kudus (UMK) in Indonesia and Nueva Ecija University of Science and Technology (NEUST) in the Philippines perceive the usage of ICT in English language education. The research was designed as a contrastive analysis, with 10 students from UMK and 10 students from NEUST participating. The study's data consisted of students' perceptions about the usage of ICT in EFL classrooms. Closed-ended questionnaires with 14 items were employed as the instruments. According to the findings, 24% of UMK students strongly agree, 61% agree, and 15% agree with the usage of ICT in the EFL classroom. Meanwhile, 46% of NEUST students strongly agree, 39% agree, 12% are neutral, and 3% disagree with the use of ICT.
