History learning in schools is only given by teachers through textbooks, delivered by lecture methods which will eventually be memorized by students or forced to be 'memorized'. This method in history lessons makes students complain and think that history lessons in school are just formalities and very boring. On one side of the poster is one of the media that is familiar with everyday life. Although it has been widely used in various fields, its use in learning, especially history is still lacking. An innovative poster design can motivate students to learn history, especially in strengthening the historical understanding of the Battle of Ambarawa. This article uses descriptive qualitative research methods, showing the method of making posters and historical material for the Battle of Ambarawa. The results of this study have been proven in historical media learnin3g in the history education of Sanata Dharma University, that each student can use the poster creation application and can spread through social media. It is hoped that students' friends as prospective history educators and history teachers will always want to learn in developing historical learning media to motivate students to develop a sense of love for their homeland.
