Wayang Wahyu is a contemporary performing art form that combines elements of Catholicism with Javanese culture. The art of wayang, as an integral part of Javanese cultural life, has become a means for the Catholic Church to convey the teachings of the Gospel. Through Wayang Wahyu performances, the Gospel messages are presented in the context of Javanese culture, creating a harmonious relationship between Catholicism and local wisdom. This paper uses the literature study method to explain the role of Wayang Wahyu as a medium for evangelization in Javanese culture. By analyzing the history, performance forms, and narratives used in Wayang Wahyu, this paper illustrates how religious elements are integrated with local wisdom, so that the teachings of Jesus Christ can be conveyed relevantly to Javanese society. It also highlights the contribution of Wayang Wahyu in maintaining and enriching the Javanese cultural heritage while spreading the gospel message. The purpose of this study is to provide valuable insights, especially for Catholics, to better understand the art of wayang in general and Wayang Wahyu as a medium of evangelization in Javanese culture. The result of this research is that Wayang Wahyu is not only a means of entertainment, but also an effective channel to convey religious messages in the Javanese cultural context.
