Abstract
In the new normal era, Indonesian people are starting to do their daily activities as usual. However, to maintain students' safety and health, many schools still implement the online learning method. The online learning system must continue during the COVID-19. Some problems are felt by students in the implementation, especially for students who live in isolated areas.
There were two problems in this study: (1) What are the challenges that students face when learning online? (2) How do the students and the teachers solve the challenges when learning online?
This study applied a survey method. Research participants were students of SMP Negeri 2 Dusun Selatan who are taking the online learning process. In the data gathering process, the researcher used a questionnaire. The questionnaire was used to answer the research questions.
The results showed that SMP Negeri 2 Dusun Selatan students had a positive answer as they felt the school's help in implementing the online learning during a pandemic. The school offered two learning methods, namely offline and online learning. The main problem with online learning was the internet can sometimes be lost or too slow.
