Vocabulary is one of the important elements that must be mastered when learning a language. Vocabulary proficiency is often given less attention which makes EFL learners find it difficult to learn effectively. Especially during pandemics, supporting learning media is needed to make sure the learning process runs well. Therefore, this research was conducted to offer an alternative solution to this concern. It aims to describe the implementation of a vocabulary journal strategy to improve secondary school students’ vocabulary proficiency. There were 54 respondents from a senior high school. During the implementation, the students were instructed to fill in the ununderstood vocabulary in the journal and upload it in the google classroom. Paired sample t-test and descriptive statistics were used to analyze the pre-and post-test scores. The results of this study indicate that journal vocabulary is well implemented. This method is proven to improve students' understanding of English vocabulary.
