Online Learning Impact to the English Speaking Fluency of Pre-service Teacher

Abstract


Online learning become a new trend for every educational institute for these past three years because the covid-19 pandemic. The implementation of online learning itself has a huge impact on every field in education. In English, many students have been concerned about the way they learning English was less effective, especially dealing with their speaking. Online learning was supported by the use of technology which can make the learning process easier. In fact, the interaction between the teacher and student has been less active than before. The concerned of this problem has been arise along with the implementation of online learning. This study is focusing on the impact of online learning to students’ speaking skill during pandemic. This study is classified as mixed method study that perform both qualitative and quantitative. The data will be collected by using questionnaire distributed online, and in-depth interview. The subject will be a 2nd year student of speaking class in University of Muhammadiyah Prof. Dr. Hamka (UHAMKA).
