Abstract
This study aims to analyze the problems of second-grade students of SMP Negeri 2 Kebumen in learning to reading comprehension. The purpose of this study was to determine the students' linguistic problems in reading comprehension. In conducting this research, the author uses qualitative methods. The object of this research is the second-grade students of SMP Negeri 2 Kebumen. The research will be carried out in two classes with 30 and 31 students for each class. Data collection techniques used are interviews and tests. According to the findings of this study, second-grade students at SMP Negeri 2 Kebumen struggle with linguistic issues in reading comprehension, including vocabulary and structure. According to the study's findings, students need to learn more about vocabulary and structure, which is known as a linguistic difficulty, in an attempt to acquire reading comprehension more easily.
