Abstract
In order to reduce speaking anxiety, the lecturers asked the students to make video recording as the assessment of Public Speaking course. The current study investigates the EFL students’ speaking anxiety participating in university-level online learning. Approximately, 100 Indonesian students from a prominent state university's English Education department were the participants. The Horwitz et al. (1986) FLCAS, as well as Dewaele and Maclntyre (2014) FLES were used to create the questionnaires that was given to the students to learn more about their perceptions of speaking anxiety and video recording, by using Survey Study as the research method. The results showed that EFL students have varying degrees of speaking anxiety. According to the findings of this study, motivating EFL students to engage in authentic circumstances, and foster joy in learning may be more beneficial to their language acquisition, and communicative ability.
