DEVELOPMENT OF BOARD GAME-BASED MEDIA TO STRENGTHEN BIOLOGICAL LEARNING DURING COVID-19 PANDEMIC

Abstract


The Covid-19 pandemic changed the Indonesian education system from offline to online. According to research, poor internet connection has an impact on online learning. This condition occurs in big cities and remote areas. Thus, many learning processes in remote areas are likely to be halted due to a lack of internet connectivity. However, some teachers still try to help students to continue learning. Teachers in this situation, need assistance, especially in providing available and inexpensive learning tools. The purpose of this study is to identify biology topics that are difficult to teach in junior high schools and to develop and to provide learning media that are needed for related topics. This research and development project used the ADDIE approach. Data was obtained through an online questionnaire. The resulting product then validated by experts before being tested on a small number of people. The product, named bioboardgame consist of two board games about the human excretory and circulatory systems, and a website containing the two board game items. The product validation score is 81% which means very valid. Teachers can use this product to help their learning process during the Covid-19 pandemic by downloading it from the website provided.
