Abstract

Based on the PISA assessment in 2018, Indonesian students are ranked 74th out of 79 countries in scientific literacy skills. This study aims to describe the development of Board Game (BG) media to develop scientific literacy skills. BG media is a game-based learning media with certain rules. The BG title is "Journal of Culinary Tourism", using class XI digestive system material. The goal is to synergize scientific literacy skills between digestive system materials, dietary food and health. The experiment was carried out by involving students to play the role of tourists with certain health, so it is necessary to regulate their diet.

The BG media uses the ADDIE model and is validated by material experts, media experts, and assessment experts; with a final score of 80.56% (good enough), so it can be tested after revision.

Limited trials were conducted for students at St. Angela's High School Bandung. As a result, they realized the importance of assessing food intake levels when on a culinary tour, based on the needs of calories, carbohydrates, fats, and proteins. Thus, students know that by maintaining a diet, diabetes mellitus, high cholesterol, and gout can be controlled, so that they can lead a healthy life.
