LIFT ARM WHEEL LOADER CYLINDER STYLE ANALYSIS USING FEA
Last modified: 2022-10-09
Abstract
Loaders are heavy equipment used in various industrial worlds with the use of scraping, transporting materials, digging, or leveling. The loader has a lift arm component that is useful for supporting the bucket and tilt lever with the up and down movement of the lift arm driven by the cylindrical lift arm. The purpose of this study is to analyze the Von Mises stress, displacement and factor of safety using Solidworks software. Analysis of the lift arm strength when receiving a load from the bucket. The research variation is the distance of the bore pin bucket from the ground level at position 1 of 585 mm, position 2 of 2000 mm and position 3 of 4360 mm. The highest Von Mises stress occurs at position 2 of 248.295 MPa. The largest displacement value is in position 2 of 16,438 mm. The design is still in a safe condition with a yield strength value of 620,422 MPa and the smallest value of factor of safety is in position 2 of 2,499. Furthermore, an additional length of 209 mm was made so that the overall length of the lift arm was 3276 mm from the previous length of 3067 mm. The results of the design Von Mises stress after additional length of 598.371 MPa and a displacement of 54.106 mm.
