Abstract
Yogyakarta Special Region (DIY) is known by various nicknames, such as "education city", "gudeg city", "cultural city", and "tourist city". On the other hand, based on Law No. 13 of 2012, the government regulates Yogyakarta Specialties. This research aims to examine the perspectives of Sanata Dharma University students regarding the special status of DIY. This study uses a quantitative approach. The data was collected using a questionnaire distributed to Sanata Dharma University students. The sampling technique uses snowball sampling. The data obtained were analyzed using descriptive and inferential statistics. It is hoped that this research can provide a comprehensive picture of the views of Sanata Dharma University students regarding the special status of DIY and provide valuable input for stakeholders in formulating more appropriate and effective policies to overcome various problems in DIY.
