FACTORS AFFECTING STUDENTS’ READINESS TO BECOME TEACHERS

Abstract


Education is a person's obligation in life. The role of a teacher in education is very important by improving the quality and quality of students. Many students and education at school can be seen from a teacher. Teachers who are prepared in their profession will provide knowledge and educate and guide students in the learning process well and optimally. The aim of this research is to find out what factors influence students' readiness to become teachers so that students understand what they need to be prepared for. The type of research used is quantitative. Data was collected through a questionnaire distributed to active students of the Sanata Dharma University Accounting Education Study Program. The research results show that the factors of interest in becoming a teacher, teacher attitudes, and understanding of teacher personality competencies influence readiness to become a teacher. This is indicated by a sign. 0.000 < 0.05 with a value of f_count=80,657 > f_table= 2.70.
