This research is a text analysis of the novel Kamu Terlalu Banyak Bercanda by Marchella FP.  This research aims to examine the strength of the narrative text in the book so that it can encourage the emergence of an understanding of narrative identity in an interpretative manner. The method used in this research is qualitative through Paul Ricoeur's hermeneutic approach. In this approach, meaning is found through various offers and possibilities presented by the text. One of the possibilities of discovery or the result of the analysis of the reading of the narrative in this book is the understanding of the concept of the "wounded I". Such a concept is a whole that is obtained in the process of interpreting the text, which involves structural analysis and text appropriation.
