Abstract


This paper examines the effectiveness of teaching English to women refugees online as a strategy to eliminate digital exclusion. The study draws on the author's experience as a volunteer teacher for women refugees in Jakarta, who come from diverse backgrounds and statuses. The research explores the challenges faced by these women in accessing traditional forms of education and how online teaching methods can provide a flexible and accessible alternative. The study also discusses the use of digital tools and virtual classrooms to enhance the learning experience and improve outcomes. The research concludes that online English language education can play a vital role in helping women refugees to integrate into their new communities and overcome the barriers to education also future employment after they leave Indonesia as transit country. The paper highlights the importance of tailoring teaching strategies to the learners' needs and experiences and creating inclusive and empowering learning environments.
