Abstract
This academic paper explores the liturgical inculturation of the Dadas Dayak Maanyan dance in the Eucharistic celebration. How does the inclusion of Dadas dance in Eucharistic celebrations as liturgical inculturation contribute to the ecclesial resistance in Central Kalimantan against the globalization of the Economic and Technocratic paradigms? The focus of this research lies in the points of encounter between the ecological values contained both in the Dadas Dayak Manyaan dance and in Church documents, especially Laudato Si and Laudate Deum. The qualitative research methodology involved participant observation, in-depth semi-structured interviews with dancers and local Catholic religious figures, as well as analysis of dance symbols and religious teachings. The Dadas Maanyan dance contains the value of ecological sustainability in the face of the ecological crisis in Central Kalimantan. The dancers depict the daily life of the Dayak Maanyan community which is ecologically connected to the surrounding nature. Harmony between natural ecology and social ecology is urgently important to maintain ecological sustainability. The dancers' movements depicting birds, fish, and other animals illustrate the natural biodiversity and the call for humans to maintain ecological sustainability. The inclusion of the Dadas Dayak Maanyan dance in the Catholic liturgy expresses liturgical inculturation that embraces ecological sustainability within the cultural community in the local Catholic Church.
