Abstract

This research addresses concerns about the emptiness of confession spaces, especially among Generation Alpha. The Sacrament of Reconciliation, which should be viewed as a spacefull of love, is often seen as a judgmental space. Based on this concern, this research seeks to answer how the Sacrament of Reconciliation can manifest itself as a space for forgiveness of sins full of love for Generation Alpha? Using a qualitative approach and descriptive analysis, the study involves Generation Alpha individuals who have experienced Reconciliation at Paroki Tyas Dalem Gusti Yesus Macanan. New research is needed to understand the challenges and opportunities in presenting a loving God. Referring to the teachings of the Council of Nicaea, forgiveness is seen as a divine gift of healing, not merely a demand for accountability. Given the social pressures, high expectations, and digital lifestyles faced by Generation Alpha, they often fall into sin. Pope Francis emphasizes in Christus Vivit that the Church should accompany young people in recovering from sin, reflecting Jesus' unconditional forgiveness. Generation Alpha should internalize that forgiveness is not scary but a step towards experiencing God's liberating love. The study aims to revive the transformative experience of the Sacrament of Reconciliation for Generation Alpha and provide insights for the Church to develop more inclusive and relevant pastoral strategies, allowing Generation Alpha to experience a loving God, not a judgmental one.
