Abstract
Born between 1997 and 2012, members of Generation Z frequently experience social and even spiritual orphanhood in today’s era. Spiritual orphanhood is the state in which members of Generation Z, despite still having biological families or belonging to a faith community, feel cut off from their faith and lose their spiritual compass. How can Catholic generation Z overcome orphanhood and find spiritual accompaniment through Rosary prayer? This literature study aims to investigate what the Nicene C Pope Francis considers the youthful Mary as 'God's influencer' in his contemplation of the Virgin Mary as the Mother of Jesus. Nicene creed's ‘born of the virgin Mary’ section and Pope Francis' Gaudete et Exultate and Christus Vivit mean to Indonesian Catholics of Generation Z, particularly the male members of Generation Z who reside in the PIJ Sisters' Dormitory in Yogyakarta. Mary is a young lady who "persists amid difficulties," "is enthusiastic about life," "is in community," and "is connected to God," according to Pope Francis. After being the mother of Jesus, Mary is now open to becoming a mother to be near to the spiritually orphaned members of Generation Z.
