Abstract

Grammar is an essential component of learning English. However, grammar becomes one of the difficult courses to master for some English as a Foreign Language (EFL) students, especially when grammar teaching and learning practices were conducted through online delivery mode. This describe-quantitative study aims to explore challenges in learning grammar in an online Intermediate Grammar class during COVID-19 Era. The participants of this research were EFL students who failed or the ones that received low scores (i.e., C, D, or E) as the final score of their Intermediate Grammar class in an English Language Education Program at a private university in Central Java, Indonesia. Preliminary results of this study and practical recommendations for grammar learning in an online setting are presented.
