Abstract


Kahoot is a popular game-based learning tool to facilitate learning used by Reading lecturers in the English Language Education Department at the State University of Malang. This study aims at investigating students’ perceptions of using Kahoot in the reading class. There were 30 students in the second semester involved in this study. The design of this study is a descriptive study with a questionnaire as the data collection technique. The findings reveal that the majority of the students have positive perceptions of the use of Kahoot in their reading class. They believe that Kahoot has been found to support their learning activities and increase their engagement and motivation in learning. However, the Internet connection becomes a critical aspect that should be considered in order for Kahoot integration in teaching and learning activities to be successful.
