ABSTRACT
EFL Students’ Perceived Speaking Anxiety in Post-Pandemic Offline Classes. Yogyakarta: English Language Education Study Program, Sanata Dharma University. Speaking skill is one of the skills learned by ELESP students at Sanata Dharma University. However, this skill is quite difficult to do because of the Covid-19 pandemic which forces students to study independently online. This online learning mode has been changed back to offline mode. This change made EFL students have to re-adapt to the old way of learning to speak. This is what gives EFL students a feeling of anxiety about speaking in class because students have to speak after not having face to face with many people for a long time. Therefore, this study will analyze the factors that cause students' speaking anxiety and ways to reduce it. There are two research questions in this research; 1) What factors lead to speaking anxiety that second year EFL students face in offline speaking classes after going through online learning classes? 2) What did EFL sophomores do to reduce anxiety in offline speaking classes? To answer research questions, researchers will use a qualitative descriptive approach. This allows researchers to use more than one type of data collection method. There are questionnaires and interviews that researchers will use. The two instruments are based on the theory of Blackburn & Davidson (1994) and Devito (2011) regarding the factors that cause students' speaking anxiety and ways to reduce it.

Keywords: EFL students, speaking anxiety, post-pandemic.
