Abstract

Speaking skills are crucial to English language learning and play a pivotal role in communication, education, and professional success. Current education methods usually emphasize reading and writing, which can result in less emphasis on developing speaking skills. This gap poses challenges for students, especially those without supportive environments to practice English outside the classroom. To address this, interactive and engaging activities are essential.

This project aims to develop an interactive workbook designed to enhance the speaking skills of fifth-grade students at SD Karitas. The workbook incorporates activities such as guessing games, roleplays, and word puzzles to foster vocabulary acquisition, confidence, and interaction among students. The study investigates how these activities can motivate students and create a productive learning environment.

The research adopts the ADDIE model, comprising analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation phases. Data were collected through interviews and questionnaires with teachers and students to identify their needs and preferences. This structured approach ensures the workbook’s relevance and effectiveness.
