Abstract


Accurate pronunciation is a crucial aspect of language learning. English pronunciation, especially in producing the sounds /dʒ/ and /tʃ/, is a common challenge for language learners, especially in our country, Indonesia, also at the general levels. This study analyzed 50 words containing the sounds /dʒ/ and /tʃ/ as pronunciation practice material to help learners. This study also explores the use of the Longman Pronunciation Dictionary to teach speaking and phonetics skills. The findings show that the application of phonological description combined with the use of the aid significantly improves the accuracy and efficiency of learners. This confirms that the combination of linguistic theory and appropriate learning resources can strengthen the effectiveness of pronunciation teaching and support the development of learners' speaking skills.
