Abstract
This research aimed to investigate the teachingl strategies employed by teachers when teaching English reading to students at MA Darul Muttaqien Maccopa and MA DDI Alliritengae. This qualitative study utilized data collection methods such as observations and interviews, involving English teachers and Class XI students from both institutions. Data analysis followed qualitative techniques outlined by Miles and Huberman, encompassing data reduction, presentation, and inference drawing. In this study, the researcher found that there were three teaching strategies applied by the teacher, firstly the reading aloud strategy, then the silent reading strategy, and then the skimming strategy. Moreover. there are two teaching models applied by the teacher, namely direct teaching and cooperative learning.
