Abstract


This study aimed to explore how Artificial Intelligence (AI) contributes to Sanata Dharma University’s students in creative writing. AI technologies such as ChatGPT and Sudowrite can technically generate stories and poetry with minimal human intervention, competing with originality and creativity. The focus of this study is how AI can contribute to the creative writing of the students of the English Language and Education Study Program in Sanata Dharma University. This study will apply discourse analysis as the research methodology. The research project will employ this strategy to examine students' interactions with AI-generated content, specifically how AI helps idea formation, language use, and narrative structure in student writing. Furthermore, the study will look into students' opinions of employing AI in their creative processes, covering both the rewards and obstacles they face. The findings are intended to shed light on the growing link between human creativity and artificial intelligence in educational environments.
