AbstractThis study aimed to find out AI's response to the differences in accents that its users have, especially for college students. The research employed a basic qualitative method. The data were collected through interviews and questionnaires. The results of the research showed that AI systems demonstrate varying levels of efficiency in detecting and responding to different accents. While commonly spoken accents such as American and British English were recognized with high accuracy, regional and non-native accents often posed challenges for AI recognition systems. The findings suggested how important the user’s accent was for AI communication to understand and respond to it. This research will discuss the challenges that AI systems processing and the strategies to improve the quality of AI performance.
