Abstract
This study aimed to describe the preparation and challenges of high school Mathematics Teachers in literacy and numeracy-based learning. The subject in this study is ten Mathematics teachers in four different high schools. The instrument used in this study was the unstructured interview. The result can be drawn from the conclusion of the interview. The result of this study was in preparation teacher wanted to give the student a case to solve and prepare how deep the concept of mathematics that given to the student, and the challenges were the time of study in high school, the deep of mathematics concept and student lack of motivation when meeting many words, and also the teacher hope student’s parent understand how education changes in learning Mathematics on both ways.
